Matte nails

A nail colour that I have been wearing constantly for almost 2 months is the grey colour on my nails in the picture above ^. I'm already onto my second bottle of it, that's how much I have been loving it. When it comes to nail polishes, I have a love/heart relationship with them. I love how they look when they are freshly painted, though, when the smallest chip comes off I feel the need to start picking/scratching it off because I hate how chipped nail polish looks, only on myself. BUT! These two nail polishes I'm about to mention have been the best so far. Read about them below:

January favourites

I love watching videos and reading people's blogs about their favourite beauty related things for each month, so I thought I should give it a go myself. It's currently summer here so it has been really hot on most days, so the things I seem to be grabbing first in my makeup bag are items that I personally feel help work with the warm weather!

These are my makeup products that I have been gravitating towards when I do my makeup lately, and here's why and what they are:

L - R
Multi task brush by Real Techniques
This is fairly new to my collection but I love it already, it's so soft and picks up pigment from powders so well. It's not too big or too small so it is perfect for highlighting my cheeks, using it for bronzer or to give a subtle contour to my cheeks.
Auto Pilot skin primer by Napoleon Perdis
This is a great product that I use right before I apply my foundation, it helps keep it on for longer and even when I use it on it's own it gives a fresh look to my skin.
Fake Up by Benefit
A concealer that a very small amount can go a long way! This isn't just a normal concealer, it has a little extra somethin' about it; around the stick of concealer there is hydrating moisturiser and those two things glide on so nicely and blend together as you put it on. It helps keep your under eye area crease free and making you look more awake even when you're not feeling crash hot.
Gimme Brow by Benefit
The less make-up I wear in summer, the better my face feels, but I can't go without doing my eyebrows.  Instead of using my normal dark powder, I use this brow gel to help define my brows but giving them a natural look and not too harsh. It tints them and helps hold the lil' hairs just where I want them!
Mineral Powder Bronzer by Natio
I discovered this bronzer through my best friend and it looked so nice on her I had to get it. It's not a matte bronzer but it also isn't extremely shimmery. This bronzer is definitely build-able, so I can have it as light as I want or build it up to a darker colour without it being over the top. It gives you a nice summer glow even if you're a pasty guuurl like myself.
Honey Trap by Lush
Just your normal lip balm, keeps your lips soft and hydrated even on those hot days where you could drink a whole bucket of water. It's really light and not at all sticky.
Creme Cup by Mac
Because I'm really pale, nude lipsticks can easily make me look washed out and zombie looking, though this colour is suits me well! I can't stand having a lipstick on that is matte and a highly pigmented colour when it's a really hot day, this lipstick is cremesheen so it's not as harsh and it keeps my lips really moisturised.
Crescent Moon Highlighter by Topshop
Last product, finally! But a really good one surprisingly considering it's from Topshop. This highlighter is SO pigmented, you have to use a pretty light hand when applying this because it's easy to go over the top (isn't always a bad thing). It has such a nice shimmery glow and I would %100 recommend this.

Extra 'beauty' products I have been loving recently

Daisy by Marc Jacobs
Every time I'm about to head out I always seem to reach for this perfume this month. It's such a nice smell and it isn't too over powering, so it's a perfect day time perfume. It suits summer so much, it smells like you have just rolled in a field of daisies.
Honey Body Lotion by Marc Jacobs
This scent goes so well with the perfume I mentioned above, I always apply my perfume right on top of where I put this and it's such a fresh but sweet smell.
Ghost shower gel by Lush
Normally when I buy a shower gel I always turn to the sweet things, like coconut etc. I actually got this as a gift because I don't think I would have normally bought this, but it's actually amazing. It smells like Lillie flowers which sounds odd but it's really nice. It's a limited addition shower gel and I'm so devo because I absolutely love it.
I forgot to include the bath bomb from the first photo; I put it in my favourites because I have been loving baths lately, and Lush's bath bombs moisturise my skin so much, especially if I get a little burnt in the sun.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read my first monthly favourite, it was something new to do and fun, I can't wait to post more things x.
